Saratoga Race Course

  • Category: Government & Commercial
  • The old lead-based paint on the exposed steel above the Grandstand in the world famous Saratoga Race Course had started to rust and flake badly. Originally another contractor was chosen for the project but was removed by the owner when it was apparent that the system they were using was not working. Although the track was opening in 8 weeks we guaranteed the owner we would complete the project with time to spare. Two crews worked 10 hour shifts 7 days a week building containment, blasting and repainting the steel. Special scaffolding was built to roll down the stepped grandstand and moved with a cable system so there was no downtime. The job was completed as scheduled and the track opened without a hitch.
